I'm not convinced that's good advise.
The whole idea of PGP/Mime is that the receipient (or the list server) can
throw away the sigs if needed, and especially, if the receipient can't
process them he/she doesn't have to be bothered by them and can cheerfully
ignore them.
If you clearsign, it's not possible
