Hi All,
I'm still suffering from the strange exim behaviour.
Just to recap, periodically (every couple of days or so), exim just stops
responding on port 25.
ie.
av-relay1:/var/spool/exim/log # telnet 127.0.0.1 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to 127.0.0.1.
Escape character is '^]'.
^]
telnet> quit
The really odd thing is that if I restart or HUP exim, it all works fine
(for another couple of days.)
Following some advice, I tried running exim in debug mode, and to my
untrained eye, it all looks to be working normally.
ie.
av-relay1:/var/spool/exim/log # /usr/exim/bin/exim -d9 -bh 127.0.0.1
Exim version 3.33 debug level 9 uid=0 gid=0

At the moment I'm having to HUP exim once a night via crontab to ensure the
service doesn't go down. Does anybody have any more ideas????
Thanks in advance,
Paul Miles
