I know at least two unix-based users who took that view. They
"innocently" received what was in fact a virus-infested attachment
intended for Windows, and, without further thought, passed it on to a
whole mailing-list, most of whom were indeed Windows users. Took the
sysadmins quite a while to clean up the resulting mess.

It did wonders for their reputation, I can assure you.
