I used to see this on a regular basis. It was version 3.6 reiserfs, but several
revisions old now at this point. Problem went away completely when I converted to
ext2 filesystem. Never ran qpopper, I use the Washington university imap stuff.

Yeah, I am actually. Hmm, on my previous mail server I didn't have any
problems with it. Oh well, I have changed my POP3 server and will see if the
problem goes away. Thanks to all those who helped.
