Agreed. I tend to configure my exims with log_smtp_confirmation=yes
since this often gives the remote Message-ID. It is a good thing to
have that since it aids the remote postmaster in tracking down the
message.

It is also a good thing to hurl in a customer's direction when they
complain about lost mail: "the mail server on 10.0.0.4 accepted your
message with ID PAA04412, so you gotta yell at that machine's
postmaster because it lost your mail".
