Until now former users were pun in an aliasfile, and so the mail
happily bounced to the new address.
Now tha boss has decided that this behaviour should be allowed
only for a limited (althought not very short - say 18 months ) time.
So i would like to set an alias file ( old_localuser : new@??? )
but also send to the sender of the message a message of the kind
"We have forwarded your message sent to old_localuser that is no
longer here to $new@??? .
Please use $new@??? since $old_localuser@ourdomain will
be discontinued shortly."
One way i thought was to set a regular user, and then set a
vacation message and a .forward with the lines new@address and
/usr/bin/vacation localuser. But this would require to keep the
account, althought just that files. If someone has a smarter idea,
involving only exim.conf it would be nice to know it.
