Possible I guess, but I don't think so. The system was not under any
particular load and only deals with sending/receiving email (and as a time
server). We have had the system under severe load before but even then got no
problems with filehandles. I would also expect exim to report that it
couldn't open the file rather than it couldn't find the service.
