Nigel Metheringham asked this as well. No, we do not use NIS at all. The
/etc/services file is present, and I assume used by the code as needed.

However, I feel that the problem is more "why was this block of code
entered?" since it requires a specific configuration option
(daemon_smtp_port) being set and we do not use that option. Something odd is
going on somewhere. Even if the code was entered, the /etc/services file is
definitely available and has 'smtp' in it. We do not change that file at
all.
