i may be a bit of a minority voice on one small point:
i agree that routers & directors should be combined, but as a networking
person, it'd be preferable to me if the new entity were not called a router.
in my world, a router is a box you buy from cisco or nortel, with lots of
network interfaces on it, or maybe build out of a linux or freebsd box.
