Subject: [Exim] Exim quotas & alias file options.
Hi;

I recently imposed quotas via exim and everything appeared to be working fine.

The user receives a message indicating that 80% of quota has been reached as I
implemented the quota_warn_threshold option.

Unfortunately, once a user receives a message that is over quota, no warning
message is sent to the sender indicating that the end user is unable to
receive the message. In fact the messages are invisibly queued without any
notification to anyone that this has happened.

A feature such as quota_over_threshold and/or quota_fail_message - you might
also split it as quota_fail_sender and quota_fail_recipient - these
options could be very useful here!

Is there any other work around I could implement in the meantime (or
(yikes)) have I missed something ?

Secondly, I have split my domain alias files into individual files on a per
domain basis. For the time being these are maintained as flat text and the
administrators of the domains have been made aware of the various options
at their disposal. These files are all located in the ftp root of
each domain, in a sub directory called mail.

They're aware of such things as :fail: and :blackhole: .Since I have
given the control of these files back to the individuals that run the domains,
several people have commented to me that it would be very useful to have
another option in this file: :vacation:/path/to/vacation/file. I'm inclined
to agree as this would nicely simplify things.

Just a couple of 0.02 !

All the best,

Drew.
