Subject: [Exim] Newbie question: root@my.isp ?
Hi,

I just installed Exim yesterday and everything's fine except this:
What should I do to have root replaced by a local user in outgoing
(internet) mail.
I have an alias which redirect mails to root to my username locally but
mails send by root to internet appear to come from root@??? instead of
jdegreef@???.

Here's an example:
root (it's me) send a mail to jdegreef@???.
jdegreef@??? (it's me again ;) ) receive the mail but this mail appears
to come from root@??? and I want it to appear coming from jdegreef@???

Is it an alias problem or should I write a rewriting rule to change root to
jdegreef before (or after) my isp domain name is added to the from field?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jerome
