The culprit seems to have been mailx. I put 'unset from' in my
/etc/mail/mailx.rc file and that seems to make it work like it was
before (now aparently exim just adds a from header and mailx adds
nothing). Im not sure why the behavior changed between OS versions, but
that seemed to fix it.
