Is there a way to modify what exim puts in the msglog file?
In going through the backlog, I would prefer not to wade through
several dozen lines of "smtp transport deferred: retry time
not reached for any host." I would prefer to see a single line
2000-07-20 06:18:59 inbox.excite.com [199.172.148.147]: Connection timed out
Next retry 07:20:00
Similarly in the main log:
I normally do NOT want to see
2000-07-21 00:00:23 13FK5s-00015D-00 Message is frozen
or
2000-07-21 00:00:23 13FNIg-0001x0-00 == sherwood@??? directing defe
r (-31): retry time not reached
For my purposes (I keep logs 30 days...) I want the log to show what
actions were taken, not the present status. E.g. I want the log
to show that exim froze a message. I don't want it to tell me
that it currently is frozen so that it's skipping it.
On the otherhand this is useful information for mailq. (exim -bp).
Most of the time ...
Ah hell. RTFM Section 48.9 Log_Level...
Ok.
I'm sending this anyway in case someone else is as slow at checking
the index as I am.
And I would like the msglog to say when the next retry is.
