The problem with the older config file for exim was that there were
around 8 interacting relay control options... thats why the new one is
*so* much better.
I suggest you try commenting out all the sender*relay options, and
*just* putting in
host_accept_relay = 127.0.0.1/8
I was also going to suggest you check that your local mailer really
does connect to localhost rather than the ip address of hostname, but
from the log fragment this appears to be the case.
