[Exim] Slow

It seems to take a long time for me to send mail from my mail software to
exim.... Is there anything special that I can check... It don't think that
it has anything to do with the connect speed because I get the same
performance when I am send from a 56k modem or when connected to the same
LAN network the exim server is in.....
