Would you really even need that much CPU horse power?

I'm thinking along the lines of:

Celeron (300+ whatever..though I'd prefer 100MHz bus)
256MB-384MB SDRAM
2 - 3 x 10K rpm drives in software RAID0 (Linux 2.2)

From what I've read so far 2 - 3 of these boxes receiving sorted batches
of mail to relay out, will be able to push a HUGE shit load of mail.
