So? Each machine contains a kit of configuration pieces, some of which
are shared and some private, and you run a script whenever you change
any of them in order to build the "running" config file on each machine.
You don't really want to have Exim assembling a collection of files each
time when you can do that once and for all, and have it read just one
file (which probably stays in memory on a busy host).
