I want to set up exim as a mail forwarder. I have read the docs and faq,
but I can't get it working. There are two machines: fw2 has sendmail
and it can use DNS. It used to work as send/receive mailserver. Now I
need
another machine, liam, to be the mailserver. Liam can't see the DNS, but
it's on the same segment as fw2, and can talk to it by IP address. Liam
uses exim.
I successfully set up liam to receive mail forwarded to it by fw2. But
when I try to make liam send outgoing mail to fw2, suddenly liam can't
receieve mail.
I have commented out lookuphost: line in exim.conf and
added this: my_route:
driver = domainlist
transport = remote_smtp
route_list = "* 10.0.0.1 byname"
However from that time on, noone can send mail to liam, because mail
bounces between liam and fw2. This is the error message ar received by
root@fw2:
