If you use a shared spool on the same host, there is the possibility of
one Exim delivering messages that were put on the spool by the other. I
can conceive of situations where this might be what you want, but
equally I can see cases where it might definitely be not what you want.
Similar remarks apply to shared log files and hints databases. As long
as it's all on the same host, the uniqueness of message ids should not be
a problem.
