I use an alias file director for a list of 12'000 odd users and it works
great... about 7000 deliveries per hour (could be more but I'm using VERP
stuff).
I did have one problem when I tried to use Exim to send to a list of
180'000 users (customers - not a spam ;)... the mailing list was about
50MB, and each Exim process that was created seemed to be 50Mish too...
and there were lots of them. Needless to say, the machine about died and
I had to give up with that. Philip asked me to send him a debug output -
but I unfortunately don't have the disk space to create one.
