That really is something I would not like to have to do. There's a site
(whose name I forget) that, when you make an SMTP connectin to it, goes
220-<welcome stuff>
220-Please wait, we have a temporary problem

That's if you are lucky. Sometimes it just goes on pouring out the
"Please wait" lines (with a pause of about 10 secs) for ever. Exim is
collecting the multiline response into a 4K buffer. When this fills, it
complains - and logs the response as a single log line...
