I'm not sure if there is anything unusual about gs. Or the strangeness
could be my printer inkjet printer (Epson Stylus Color II). Folks using
laser printers had no problems. I didn't hear from anyone who tried it on
an inkjet. Weird [technical computer term]. :)

A few people suggested this over the weekend. I got a copy of psutils
(very handy toolset!). Using psselect to split the pages so I can print
double-sided sheets and psresize go from A4 to letter worked for me. :)
The text did shrink, but nothing worth fussing over.
