[EXIM] setting up mailboxes

I am still having problems with setting up mailboxes and with sending local
and remote mail. My mainlog shows errors having to do with deferring mail
and "permission denied: creating lock file hitching post" or similar.

Can someone tell me how to get around these difficulties? The
documentation assumes too much knowleedge on the part of the user and I
have no idea what a "traditional stickybit mailbox" is all about.
