The only thing Exim is doing wrong here is giving a non-X extension
without IANA approval. It seems safe to assume that the client does not
automatically check with IANA to figure out which extensions have been
approved. So the client is doing something wrong---prohibiting colons,
or prohibiting lowercase, or prohibiting unrecognized extensions.
Obviously Exim should be fixed, but someone should also get in touch
with the client author.
