Subject: [EXIM] RBL feedback
Several people asked me to summarize the responses I received to my
request for feedback on the use of RBL. I received four responses, two
from postmasters at departments here in Cambridge, one from a university
Denmark, and one from a university in South Africa.

One local postmaster had done some logging of what RBL would do, and had
concluded that it was too aggressive for that department; it would have
cut off at least one of their important mailing lists (from another
university).

The other local postmaster said "Works like a charm". There was only one
serious problem, when another UK university got blacklisted for relaying.
It was apparently fixed within half an hour.

The Danish postmaster was also enthusiastic and had also had just one
problem, with an ISP in Denmark that was not secure against relaying.
This too was quickly fixed.

The South African postmaster just reported that it was working really
well at their site.
