New filtering rules in Exim 1.651-for-testing release

I think Philip is away, but is anyone else using the new filter rules
and @@lsearch;/some/file lookup? My reading of the newstuff file is that
the following should reject an 8 digit username from any site.

*: ^\d{8}$

Sadly, this doesn't appear to be the case. Is it broken, or am I
misreading that section of the NewStuff file.
