Subject: Why doesn't this relay?
The details...

bsdi version 2.1, exim 1.62.

The significant parts of the exim.conf:

relay_match_host_or_sender = true
sender_host_accept_relay = partial-lsearch;/etc/mail/relayfrom
sender_net_accept_relay = 204.214.110.0/255.255.255.0
sender_address_relay = *.harborside.com:harborside.com
sender_net_accept_relay = 204.214.110.0/255.255.255.0
sender_reject_recipients = lsearch;/etc/mail/spammers
sender_host_reject_recipients = partial-lsearch;/etc/mail/spamdomains
sender_net_reject = 205.199.2.0/255.255.255.0
sender_verify_reject = true

/etc/mail/relayfrom contains among other lines:

*.sparks.net

But pointing my netscape mailer at it gives me:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1997-06-13 19:57:47 refused relay (sender & host accept) to
dmiller@??? from <david@???> H=ws.sparks.net [204.248.143.3]
(david)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance,

David Miller

        It's *amazing* what one can accomplish when
            one doesn't know what one can't do!
