Please remember that in the absence of MX records, A record lookup(s) will
be performed for email delivery.
So you probably want something like this, if I have understood the docs
correctly and have managed to line my syntax ducks well:
${lookup dnsdb{mxh=$sender_address_domain}{$value}{lookup
dnsdb{a=$sender_address_domain}}}
