Those two lines seem to be in conflict to me. Either these mails
are arriving or they are not.

It's unclear because you didn't give enough context,
but I assume this was an error as reported by the Google side?
To tell what your Exim thinks about such a connection, you'd need to look at
what was logged for that connection - and possibly go on to using the debug
facilities (as described in the docs) that Exim provides.
