Bug ID: 3041
Summary: Error on ${run{/usr/bin/echo ${quote:hello world}}}
Product: Exim
Version: 4.96
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: bug
Priority: medium
Component: String expansion
Assignee: unallocated@???
Reporter: eximusers@???
CC: exim-dev@???
Hello,
with 4.96 and later up to 4.97 RC3 I see:
ametzler@argenau:/tmp/EXIM4$ /usr/sbin/exim4 -be '${run{/usr/bin/echo
${quote:hello world}}}'
Failed: Expansion of "${quote:hello" from command "/usr/bin/echo ${quote:hello
world}" in ${run} expansion failed: missing } at end of string
whereas 4.95 yielded
hello world
I might be too stupid right now but I do not think the new behavior (preexpand
option) explains this to be a non-bug.
