Subject: [exim-dev] [Bug 2922] New: exim using random ipv6 for sending ountbound mail
https://bugs.exim.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2922

            Bug ID: 2922
Summary: exim using random ipv6 for sending ountbound mail
           Product: Exim
           Version: 4.96
          Hardware: x86-64
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: bug
          Priority: medium
         Component: Networking
          Assignee: unallocated@???
          Reporter: radu@???
                CC: exim-dev@???

im running exim 4.96 on CentOS. The machine that i have exim setup on has a few
IPv4 addresses and a few IPv6 addreses. The problem I have is that exim keeps
picking a random address everytime outbound e-mails go to go
gmail/outlook/yahoo etc...

I have the config file setup to use one IPv4 and one IPv6, for IPv4 it uses the
IP specified for IPv6 it has a mind of its own and randomly uses whatever IPv6
it wants. I have searched the web and looked thru the manual and I cannot seem
to find a way to lock exim to send outbound e-mail on just 1 specific IPv6
address...

not sure if this is a bug or "working as intended" . more light on the matter
would be greatly appreciated.
