It's defined in line 85 of the file I attached previously, where there is:

CHECK_RCPT_REMOTE_LOCALPARTS = ^[./|] : ^.*[@%!`#&?] : ^.*/\\.\\./

There is a description about that macro in the file exim4.conf.template,
used along with the file exim4.conf.localmacros, to generate the actual
config file config.autogenerated.

As far as I understand, exim4-config leaves the default definition,
unless you put a different one in the file exim4.conf.localmacros or in
exim4.conf.template, but I didn't.
