Lacking any further info, closing on the grounds it's not a bug in Exim.
We might be able to introduce a *workaround* for the bug in the PAM library
(we still are carrying the one from bug 2489) but only if the precise item
can be discovered. Meantime, please raise bus against the PAM library.
