Hi Klaus,

apparently my problem was that it wasn't restarting the spamassassin
process / daemon to take over the rule changes.

Now, after editing the custom rules file I run:
systemctl restart spamassassin
for them to be updated.

And with that I have solved the problem consulted.

I think, you miss the link between spamassassin and exim.

You need two think. One is the ACL using `spam = nobody:true` which uses
user nobody in this case to check for spam.

The second, and in your case the most important, is the (default) spamd
at localhost port 783. You must ensure that spamd IS running. In case of
spamassassin, it is a perl script. Be sure to have, in case of a
debianoid system, have package spamassassin installed and the daemon
running.

When you change some rules, you only have to restart the spamd. NOT
Exim.
