The goal is to provide pcre2 support for testing regex on an IRC channel, via
Windows. Not the greatest tools being used there but pcre2test does the job of
providing the auto callout feature for getting a "step count" as well as doing
replacement.
It seems that pcregrep cannot do replacement so it's less handy.
Technologies evolve and so will terminal, I don't think it's too far fetched
from its original purpose for pcre2test to provide full utf8 output of any
character when outputting to a file via an option, but as well for outputting
to the terminal directly if it has utf8 capability
Also, how do you pass an empty string as the replacement of a match?
