Reproducer

I confirm it. PCRE2 reproducer:

$ ./pcre2grep -M -e '(.+)(<\/head>.+<div id="content-area">)(.+)'
/tmp/template.html

where /tmp/template.html is in the attachment.

The identified commit increases runt-time from 0.055s to 2.123s (38 times).
