ZoltanAfter reading you entry and looking over the pointed thread, I am VERY disappointed to learn that the JIT development is solely for  Linux.  I think that that limitation is shortsighted and probably could be overcome with little effort
That said, it is a prime example of IBM duplicity on that subject.  On one hand, they would love that we would develop for them for free (or small amount of the bounty).  OTH, they won't create any community friendly environment for development.
BTW, yes you could install a mainframe on a laptop or a desktop.  There is an emulator named Hercules out there and I think it is pretty much up to date.  Also IBM does (or did) sell hardware add on for PC's.  The problem is that IBM categorically refuses to give inexpensive versions of its various OS'es to developers.  They charge an arm and a leg for that stuff and bind you to whatever.  Without the basic IBM z/OS or z/VM you cannot run Linux.

It looks like we have to determine which allocator is the closest to what I need and put a hook, using the NATIVE_ZOS macro and allow me to develop the appropriate header files.  We did that in the non JIT PCRE2 (look at pcre2grep.c for example).  However, I will need some guidance on how to develop it.

Hi all
I would like to reiterate: I do not use Linux and I do not use gcc.  Rather I am using IBM native C compiler, so anything that is gcc specific or Linux specific is a show stopper.
Please review the attached snippets and provide some advice
