correction:
Catalina still shows conflict with fork() but ONLY if the application is using
the hardened runtime (and therefore has the needed entitlement)
considering how this behave in BigSur (and specially when running in Apple
Silicon) we might need some additional logic on top of the proposed[1] update
to be able to use a system wide PCRE effectively by both (notarized and plain)
applications, and assuming there is a way to accomplish that.
