How to reproduce

# checkout pcre2 into a directory containing a space:
svn co svn://vcs.pcre.org/pcre2/code/trunk "pcre2 space"
cd "pcre2 space"/
mkdir build
cd build
cmake ..
make

# result:
error: space/src: No such file or directory
