It's treating the IPv6 address as a hostname, so it's trying to look
up "xxxx:yyyy:0:107:4::583" in the DNS to get its IP/IPv6 addresses.

Have you tried an IPv6 literal:

<+[xxxx:yyyy:0:107:4::583]

There is an example in the documentation that shows this:

route_list = * "</ [10.1.1.1]:1225 / [::1]:1226"

So maybe you need to quote it?
