Subject: [exim-dev] [Bug 2454] New: Some Exim configurations send BDAT to a non-pipelining server that rejects all RCPT commands
https://bugs.exim.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2454

            Bug ID: 2454
Summary: Some Exim configurations send BDAT to a non-pipelining
server that rejects all RCPT commands
           Product: Exim
           Version: N/A
          Hardware: x86
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: bug
          Priority: medium
         Component: Delivery in general
          Assignee: unallocated@???
          Reporter: wietse@???
                CC: exim-dev@???

Some Exim configurations send BDAT to a server that does not announce
PIPELINING support, and that has rejected all RCPT TO commands in a mail
transaction.

This causes mail delivery problems with sites that have turned on the
postscreen daemon. This is an optional Postfix feature that looks for dubious
SMTP protocol behavior, such as clients that ignore negative server responses.

Here's a small sample of Exim clients, with the first line of their message
content:
