I have at last managed to reproduce the crash in 10.33. However, the latest
head code does not crash. There have been a number of JIT changes and in
particular, this one is probably what fixed it: "3. Fix minor typo bug in JIT
compile when \X is used in a non-UTF string." Thanks for the report, but it's
nice when the problem has already been fixed!
