Your analysis is correct, and it's a concern. I'm not particularly happy about
the idea of treating the name "nobody" as magic either; the nor does the
obvious
solution of an "I-really-mean-it" option sit well. Perhaps a different variant
name?
Or we could just say: Exim version changes can introduce minor
incompatabilities,
and this is one. We write things in the Changes file for good reason, and we
mark up the main ".spec" documentation with changebars; people are expected to
attend to these and modify their configurations as required.
