You are quite right. There is currently a release candidate for 10.32 available
for testing, but this is such a small change that I think it can be sneaked
into 10.32. I have done so, and committed the patch. If you have a chance to
download it and try it, please do:
svn co svn://vcs.exim.org/pcre2/code/trunk pcre2
or just get the one file from
https://vcs.pcre.org/pcre2/
