Thanks for diagnosing this issue and providing a patch. PCRE2 10.31 was
released recently (12th February) but the relevant code is unchanged from
10.30. I have applied your patch (with copious comments) to the development
source and committed the file, but there won't be a new release for several
months now. I have no way to test the patch on m68k, needless to say.
