I think that post glosses over an issue. While unencoded
display names need double-quotes if they include special
characters not allowed in dot-atoms (some may be surprised
by what is allowed in dot-atoms), RFC2047 obviates the
need for such quoting:
=?us-ascii?Q?president=40whitehouse.gov?=
is a valid display name, look ma, no quotes!
