Thanks for this additional information. In fact we are already in the process
of testing translation functions within PCRE2. There is a general API which can
handle a number of different translations (we are also looking at globs). I've
done initial work for POSIX BRE and ERE which AEvar has been testing, though
I'm sure there are still issues to be worked out. Another PCRE2 user is also
interested in JS compatibility, which perhaps could be done this way as well.
The current code is in the PCRE2 SVN repository, though there is no
documentation as yet except for a file in which I've noted everything (because
I don't want to make this "public" until we are sure it's no longer in a state
of flux).
