The real delivery would be done by the exim daemon / queue runner on the same
host. And I am not looking for an SMTP proxy but a program that accepts
sendmail command line options and passes the mails on to the local exim (with
SMTP or by whatever other means that does not require a suid binary).
I think what I would need is something like the mua_wrapper option, but
* Only affect mail that is received locally (non-SMTP) and still allow exim to
be run as daemon. Currently, mua_wrapper is a global option.
* Use /tmp instead of the normal spool directory in this mode.
Isn't this a valid wishlist issue?
