Yes, it's understood pcretest is meant to provide functionality to test the
lib, sometimes outside expected uses. A warning was suggested to (hopefully)
stop more bugs in such incorrect library use cases from being called pcre
security flaws. But I'm not trying to force you into anything, and thank you
for the quick response.
