I'm not sure if this is a problem.

Fedora 23 environment:

If you try to specify an interface using the link-local ipv6 address,
in an smtp transport, the bind() call fails. I can imagine systems where
some links might have only link-locals.

Also because of this we cannot run the ipv6 parts of the testsuite on an
ipv4-only network-connected system (even when the system is ipv6-capable).
